1) Where is your office, what is the phone number, and how do I
get there?
There are 2 offices so you must first know which doctor you will be
seeing and at which office. Several doctors have office hours at more
than one office:
Dr. Hitscherich, Dr. Leiman, and Dr. Brandspiegel.

2) With what insurance plans are the doctors enrolled?
This is a good question but our participation in insurance plans is fluid so
please call for the most accurate information. You will also be able to get
relevant information from your primary medical doctor if you are coming
to us for a consultation visit, which often requires approval from your
insurance company.
3) At which hospitals do the doctors have admitting privileges?
The doctors are on staff at North Shore University Hospital at Plainview
located on Old Country Road in Plainview and at New Island Hospital
located on Hempstead Turnpike in Bethpage.
4) Where can I go for laboratory testing?
Island Medical Group owns Bethpage Medical Laboratory. The main
facility is located at 4045 Hempstead Turnpike, Bethpage, NY 11714,
phone number: 516-731-2900.
Our patients may have their lab testing at Bethpage Medical Laboratory
or whatever laboratory your insurance permits.
5) What do I do if I become ill when the office is closed?
Call the office of your primary medical doctor. You will be directed to the
answering service, which will contact the on-call doctor who will return
your call promptly. If you do not receive a call back within 15 minutes,
please call again and explain the situation. If your problem is of a very
serious, life-threatening nature please call 911 for EMS transport to
the Emergency Department.
