Robert M. Hitscherich, MD, graduated Tufts University School of Medicine, Boston, Massachusetts, in 1988. He completed a three-year medical residency at The New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center, New York City and was the assistant chief medical resident at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York City for one year. The following two years were spent as a clinical fellow in the Division of Digestive Diseases at The New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center, New York City. Prior to joining Island Medical Group in 1995, Dr. Hitscherich served as an assistant clinical professor of medicine at the Pennsylvania Hospital and the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, while in private practice.
