Douglas Mund, MD, FACR, graduated State University of New York-Downstate Medical Center, in 1975. After completing a three-year internal medicine residency at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, Queens, New York, he returned to SUNY-Downstate Medical Center and completed a two-year fellowship in rheumatology. Dr. Mund has been on staff at numerous metropolitan hospitals including SUNY-Downstate Medical Center, College of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Parker Jewish Geriatric Center, Syosset General Hospital and Winthrop University Hospital. He is currently on staff at North Shore University Hospital at Plainview, St. Francis Hospital, Roslyn and Long Island Jewish-Hillside Medical Center. An author of a number of articles and letters to the editor in peer-reviewed medical journals, Dr. Mund is active in medical professional organizations including the American College of Rheumatology, Long Island Rheumatism Association and the American College of Physicians as well as the Nassau County Medical Society. Dr. Mund joined Island Medical Group in January 2009.
